About Catherine Tocci

Catherine Tocci graduated from Smith College in Northampton, MA. in 2014 with a B.A. in Neuroscience. Following gradaution she worked as a research coordinator at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where she conducted basic science research exploring the pathophysiology of gait disturbance in Parkinson’s disease. After this experience Catherine began her first foray into clinical research in a psychiatric neuroimaging lab at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachuetts General Hospital. In her role, she conducted studies aimed at uncovering how certain facets of sleep architecture may be linked to cognitive deficits in Schizophrenia. Catherine is currently a graduate student in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida, where she is a member of the Clinical-Cognitive Neuroscience Lab under the direction of Dr. William Perlstein. Her current research interests involve cognitive rehabilitation following traumatic brain injury (TBI). She is working to better identify the ways in which cognitive functioning is impaired following TBI, and to further understand how cognitive rehabilitation efforts can be improved to enhance skill acquisition post injury.
