Jessica Zakrzewski

Biography

Jessica Zakrzewski is a fourth year graduate student in UF’s Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, in the neuropsychology track. Jessica completed her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota and master’s degree from the University of Manchester. Following the completion of her masters, Jessica worked as a research coordinator and psychophysiology laboratory manager for the University of California, San Francisco’s Memory & Aging Center on an RO1 grant examining anosognosia in behavioral variant frontemporal dementia. She also collaborated with her lab and the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF to examine anosognosia in individuals with hoarding disorder.

Research Focus

Jessica’s primary research interests include the intersection between psychiatric disease and aging, in particular how new onset and long-standing disorders alter the course of normal cognitive aging. She is interested in exploring the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders using stroke and neurovegetative disease models, with a particular focus on developing a model for hoarding disorder. Jessica is currently completing her doctoral thesis which focuses on error monitoring and correlates to clinical and cognitive insight in individuals with hoarding and major depressive disorders.
