Biography
Shelby is a graduate student in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology. She graduated with a B.S. from the University of Central Florida in 2015 with a double major in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology. She then received her PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Florida under the mentorship of Barry Setlow and Jennifer Bizon. During her PhD in Medical Sciences she studied how modulating dopamine effects risky decision making and how drugs of abuse effect risky decision making. Shelby joined the Center for Pain Research and Behavioral Health in 2020 under the mentorship of Jeff Boissoneault.
Research Focus
Pain modulatory capacity and alcohol use.
