Lizabeth Jordan, M.S.

Biography

Lizabeth Jordan, M.S., is a Pediatric Neuropsychology graduate student in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Master of Science degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florida.  Lizabeth is currently continuing her graduate training with a focus on pediatric neuropsychology under the mentorship of Dr. Shelley Heaton.

Research Focus

The goal of Lizabeth’s research is to understand memory dysfunction in pediatric patients.  Specifically, she is interested in examining the memory profiles (encoding, retention, and retrieval) in childhood epilepsy, ADHD, and traumatic brain injury populations.  She is currently completing her dissertation entitled, “Cognitive & Demographic Factors Contributing to Verbal Memory Performance in Clinical Pediatric Populations.”

Clinical Focus

Lizabeth has clinical expertise in both Pediatric Neuropsychology and Pediatric Psychology.  She has provided neuropsychology and psychology consultation services to a variety of Shands inpatient and outpatient pediatric medical services, including Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, and the Craniofacial Clinic.  Currently, Lizabeth is involved in pediatric neuropsychological  assessment and psychological treatment  services through the UF/Shands outpatient Psychology Clinic.

Community Involvement

Lizabeth received the 2011 Jenny Sivinsky Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Service for her extensive volunteer work with Camp Boggy Creek and the Shands Arts in Medicine for Kids program.  She most recently served as the head counselor at the 2012 UF/Shands Craniofacial Family Camp.
