Emily Matusz Selected for the Stephanie Nicole Ross Foundation’s Annual Scholarship

Emily Matusz Congratulations to CHP’s Emily Matusz, selected for the 2023-2024 Stephanie Nicole Ross Foundation’s annual scholarship.

Emily is entering her third year of the Clinical and Health Psychology Ph.D. program with a specialization in Neuropsychology at the University of Florida. Broadly, Emily’s research focuses on the intersection among biomarkers, cardiovascular risk factors, and cognition in Alzheimer’s and related dementias across diverse populations. She hopes that her research will help improve early detection of atypical cognitive decline and better predict disease progression to allow for earlier treatment planning and improved quality of life for individuals with dementia.

The mission of the Stephanie Nicole Ross Foundation is to “celebrate the memory and honor the life of Stephanie Nicole Ross by supporting Florida graduate students in their training and strives to inspire personal and academic growth; to forward education and understanding of the human brain; to foster goodwill and service towards people and animals; and to support community initiatives that affected and inspired her.”

The award will provide a scholarship for the upcoming academic year and an opportunity for continued annual scholarship support throughout the remainder of Emily’s time in the program.
