Dr. Janicke earned his BA in finance and marketing from the University of Minnesota, his MA in
clinical psychology from Minnesota State University-Mankato, and his doctorate in clinical
psychology from Virginia Tech. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He joined the Department of Clinical Psychology at UF in 2003. He
has held a number of key administrative and service roles while at UF, including child area head,
director of post-doctoral training, director of graduate training, member of graduate faculty council
and faculty senate, chair of the college tenure and promotion committee, and interim chair. He is a
Fellow of Division 54, the Society of Pediatric Psychology, of the APA and boarded in clinical child
and adolescent psychology. His primary research focus is in pediatric obesity. He has published over
135 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has been funded by NIH as a PI or Co-I since 2007. He has
been chair or co-chair on over 30 dissertation committees.
