The Price team was honored for the Perioperative Cognitive Anesthesia Network (PeCAN), Details of the PeCAN program can be seen here. PeCAN is an interdisciplinary enterprise part of the Presurgical Center at UF Health Shands Hospital where neuropsychologists, geriatric medicine specialists, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nurses plan patient optimization prior to operative procedures. PeCAN aspires to be a clinical-training-research program designed to address the needs of older adults at-risk for poor postoperative outcomes. The anesthesia staff administers a quick cognitive screener to all adults over the age of 65 presenting for elective surgery. Older adults believed to be at risk for cognitive change following surgery are referred to a preoperative neuropsychologist for a neurobehavioral status examination.

UF Innovate comprises Tech Licensing, Ventures, and two business incubators, The Hub and Sid Martin Biotech. Together, those organizations move research discoveries from the laboratory to the market.
