Bruce Cuthbert has been appointed Acting Director of the National Institute of Mental Health
BODY: Dr. Cuthbert came to the University of Florida in 1981 as a post-doctoral fellow working in the lab that became the Center for the Study of Emotion and Attention (CSEA, http://csea.phhp.ufl.edu/), and did a clinical internship at the Malcom Randall Veteran’s Administraton in Gainesville. From 1983-1993 he continued at UF as an Assistant Research Scientist (Professor) and from 1993-1998 he was a CHP Associate Research Professor and the Associate Director of the CSEA. From 1994-1998, Cuthbert headed a major project in a multi-center NIH-funded program project. Bruce’s was later appointed a tenured Full Professor at the University of Minnesota, a position he left to pursue science policy at the National Institute of Mental Health.
