CHP students receive abstract awards at SBM Annual Meeting

CHP students Kristen Medina, Samantha Minski, and Danielle Lespinasse are to receive the Society of Behavioral Medicine Obesity and Eating Disorders SIG Best Graduate Student Research Abstract Awards at the 34th Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions of the Society of Behavioral Medicine held in San Francisco, CA on March 21, 2013.

Kristen Medina received the SBM Obesity & Eating Disorders SIG Best Graduate Student Research Abstract Award for her abstract entitled: “Comparing Changes in the Association of a New Body Shape Index and Body Mass Index with Changes in Heart Disease Risk Factors Following a Weight Loss Intervention.”

Samantha Minski received the SBM Obesity & Eating Disoders SIG Best Graduate Student Research Abstract Award for her abstract entitled: “Impact of Missing Data in a Weight Control Trial.”

Danielle Lespinasse received the SBM Obesity & Eating Disorders SIG Best Graduate Student Research Abstract Award for her abstract entitled: “Predicting the Risk of Becoming Lost to Follow-up in a Lifestyle Weight Loss Intervention.”

All three students are studying Health Psychology and are mentored by Dr. Michael Perri.
