A primary objective for Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory is to translate basic science discoveries into clinical applications in order to slow, avert or restore age-related cognitive decline and memory loss.
To achieve this objective, the Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory is organized around several cores designed to focus on the aging brain, which support investigators, train Junior Scholars, and support research development projects. Additionally, shared research cores exist between the Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory and the Pepper Center: the Leadership and Administrative Core, the Clinical Research Core, the Metabolism and Translational Science Core, the Research Career Development Core, the Pilot and Exploratory Studies Core, the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core and the Data Science Core.
The Center for Cognitive Aging and Memory cores are:
- Neurophysiology and Neuromodulation Research Laboratory Core (Core Leader: Adam Woods, Ph.D.)
- Genomic Core (Core Leader: Leonard Moroz, Ph.D.)
- Human Imaging Core (Core Leader: Song Lai, Ph.D.)
- Neuroimaging Core (Core Leader: Ron Cohen, Ph.D.)
