Continuing Education Programs
The Department sponsors a weekly workshop/seminar series that provides updates on science and practice. This series is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for Psychologists. The Department of Clinical and Health Psychology maintains responsibility for the program, and regularly schedules activities that enable faculty and local psychologists to meet statutory continuing education requirements. View the schedule of upcoming conferences.
The Department also hosts specialized conferences designed to provide state-of-the-art training in practice or to provide a forum for scientific presentations and professional development. Recent examples include the UF PCIT Training Workshops and the 10th National Conference on Child Health Psychology in 2006. Additional conferences are being planned and announcements will be forthcoming.
The Department also co-sponsors conferences offered by other departments and units of the Health Science Center and University that provide continuing education for psychologists. Recent examples include the yearly Child Advocacy Conference sponsored by the Gainesville Child Advocacy Center, Ethics Workshops sponsored by the Shands Ethics Committees, and the 2005 SUNNA Educational Workshop for Care Providers sponsored by the UF Womens’ Health Research Center. Organizations wishing to provide continuing education for psychologists through a co-sponsorship agreement should contact Russell M.
