BaumanBiography

Vivi Bauman is a second year graduate student in UF’s Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, and a Masters candidate in Public Health with a concentration in Biostatistics. Vivi graduated from University of Maryland-College Park with a major in psychology and a minor in Spanish language and culture. After graduation, Vivi worked as a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where she assisted in the implementation of clinical trials aimed at discovering contributing factors to obesity and diabetes, along with treatment improvement for these conditions.

Research Focus

Vivi’s primary research interests include metabolic disease prevention and health promotion. She is interested in exploring psychosocial, behavioral, and biological barriers to healthy weight management and how better understanding these factors can inform novel treatments for obesity, and improve implementation and dissemination. Vivi is currently completing her master’s thesis focused on identifying the optimal dose of behavioral obesity treatment for improving glycemic control in adults with obesity and prediabetes.
