Karlyn Vatthauer, M.S.

Biography

Karlyn Vatthauer, M.S., is a doctoral candidate at the University of Florida in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology. Karlyn enrolled in the program after graduating from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology and a minor in biology in 2009. Karlyn is in the Clinical Health Psychology track, where she is under the mentorship of Dr. Michael E. Robinson. She is currently a predoctoral psychology intern in the Health Psychology track at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System for the 2015-2016 year.

Research Focus

Karlyn’s broad research interests include older adults, cognitive functioning, and behavioral health. Karlyn also has a specialized interest in behavioral sleep medicine, insomnia, and conditions comorbid with insomnia such as chronic pain, PTSD, nightmares, and medical conditions. Karlyn is currently working with Dr. Robinson to examine time of day differences in older adult cognitive functions and the effect of different health behaviors on these relationships.

Clinical Focus

Karlyn primarily enjoys working with adults and older adults with comorbid medical and psychological diagnoses.
