Sarah Stromberg, M.S.

Biography

Sarah Stromberg, M.S. is a doctoral candidate at the University of Florida (UF) in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology. Sarah graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Mathematics. Sarah worked in a psychophysiology lab at the University of Kentucky and published her Senior Honor’s Thesis on diaphragmatic breathing and its effects on motion sickness. Sarah is now in the Child/Pediatric track and works as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Pediatric Psychology Lab under the mentorship of Dr. David Janicke.

Research Focus

Sarah’s primary research interests include disordered eating and weight management in children and adolescents. For her Master’s Thesis, Sarah conducted a research study using primary data collection to examine factors influencing mother to child portion sizes. She conceptualized, coordinated, and published this study under the mentorship of Dr. Janicke. Sarah’s doctoral dissertation will examine preoperative dietary and psychosocial predictors of postoperative caloric intake in a population of bariatric surgery patients.
