Major multi-site clinical trial, several influential publications

Congratulations to Dr. Steven Anton.  In his primary role as a Division Chief in the University of Florida Institute on Aging/Department of Aging and Geriatrics Research (College of Medicine), he will serve as the co-Principal Investigator of the University of Florida field site of a major multi-site clinical trial investigating whether reducing inflammation in older adults can improve and maintain their mobility. Anton also received acceptance of a major review article, “Successful Aging: Advancing the Science of Physical Independence in Older Adults”, forthcoming in Aging Research Reviews. CHP faculty Vonetta Dotson, Michael Marsiske, and Michael Perri (Dean, College of Public Health and Health Professions), CHP student Christy Karabetian, along with faculty affiliate Ronald Cohen (Director of the UF McKnight Cognitive Aging and Memory Program) were among the co-authors of this paper.

Dr. Anton is not only a current faculty member, but a graduate of Clinical and Health Psychology under mentorship of Dr. Michael Perri.
