David Janicke, PhD., receives NIH funding on two year obesity study

Dr. Janicke, an Associate Professor in CHP, is the Primary Investigator on a newly funded randomized controlled trial by NIH. The Community-based Healthy-lifestyle Intervention for Rural Preschoolers (The CHIRP Study) is two-year R21 designed to evaluate the impacts of a behavioral family lifestyle intervention delivered through USDA Cooperative Extension Service offices on weight and health behavior outcomes for overweight and obese young children (ages 3 to 6 years) and their parents in rural communities.
